HYPERLOOP AUGMENTED WINDOWS

AUGMENTED WINDOWS CREATE A COMPLETELY NEW TRAVEL EXPERIENCE FOR HYPERLOOP

CHALLENGE I HOW TO LOOK OUT OF A WINDOW IN A WINDOWLESS CAPSULE?

HTT Hyperloop set the challenge of creating innovate transportation solutions in 2 fields. To begin, neither the Hyperloop capsule nor the tube of Hyperloop have windows. For some passengers, this windowless environment could trigger a claustrophobic feeling since most commuters are accustomed to looking out of a window in other modes of transport. Secondly, Hyperloop was not satisfied with todays outdated information and entertainment systems that cannot, for example, connect with smartphones or tablets. During travel, passengers rarely have an opportunity to experience anything other than travelling from A to B.

SOLUTION I AUGMENTED WINDOW EXPERIENCE FEATURING FACE TRACKING AND A REALISTIC SIMULATION OF OUTSIDE WORLD

Located next to each capsule seat HTT Hyperloop has installed a 55inch panel allowing commuters to look outside. Each panel features specially fitted cameras with RGB -D sensors that detect commuter head movements and are thus capable of simulating the outside world realistically by presenting it in motion. This means that as you move your head to look out the window, the scene follows your line of sight to allow the feeling of a normal window. In addition to showing the outside landscape the panels can also feature travel information, movies or entire virtual worlds. Simply open the app and choose your experience.
