How can I use deep linking with REFLEKT Remote?

This article explains how you can trigger the creation of a REFLEKT Remote incident from any other system using deep linking.



REFLEKT Remote offers two different types of deep links:

  • BASIC DEEP LINK: Allows you to start REFLEKT Remote from any other system.
  • ADVANCED DEEP LINK: Allows you to create a REFLEKT Remote incident with the option to pass information from an initial system to REFLEKT Remote.

For detailed information on both types, please read below. At the end of this article you find a few examples of systems to connect to via deep linking.




Deep Link Scheme

  • rfremote://start


With the above deep link, you can start REFLEKT Remote. If you are already logged in, you will be directed to the incident screen, otherwise to the login screen.

For testing purposes, you can simply copy the deep link into your browser bar and press enter to start REFLEKT Remote. Please note that the REFLEKT Remote app has to be installed on the same device that is used for triggering the deep link.



Deep Link Scheme

  • rfremote://incident/create?title=TITLE_PARAMETER&description=DESCRIPTION_PARAMETER&extid=EXTERNAL_ID_PARAMETER


With the above deep link, you can start REFLEKT Remote and directly create an incident. If you are already logged in, you will be directed to the incident creation screen, otherwise to the login screen.

Using advanced deep linking, you can pass information from your initial system to REFLEKT Remote including:

  • Incident Title (TITLE_PARAMETER)
    • Mandatory
    • Maximum length: 30 chars
    • No multiline
    • Has to be URL ENCODED
  • Incident Description (DESCRIPTION_PARAMETER)
    • Optional
    • Maximum length: 200 characters
    • Multiline supported
    • Has to be URL ENCODED
    • Optional
    • Maximum length: 30 characters
    • No multiline
    • Has to be URL ENCODED


    The newly created incident will show up as unassigned incident for all Expert users on their waiting list.
    For users with only one area, the incident will directly be created. Multi-area users can select one of their areas prior to incident creation.


    NOTE: If an incident with same external ID already exists, users can decide to either view the existing incident or create a new one with the same external ID.





    To identify how your business could benefit from deep linking, simply think about digital tools that your Expert or Technician users work with on a daily basis. For example:


    Ticket Management Systems

    If your Expert users are working with a ticket management system to keep track of incoming service requests, deep linking could help to connect this system with REFLEKT Remote. Just add an interface (e.g. a new button "CREATE REMOTE INCIDENT") to the ticket management system with our advanced deep link as embedded URL.     Other mobile applications

    If your in-house technicians or customers already work with a mobile application to maintain their production facility, view documentation or access work instructions, they might benefit from live remote support. In this case you could add a button to your existing mobile app which connects the user with REFLEKT Remote where they can directly contact an expert.
